Deep cleaning · one thorough session

Deep cleaning in Tbilisi: the jobs a regular visit never reaches

Deep cleaning is a single, thorough session that goes past the surfaces: inside cupboards, behind the fridge and cooker, grease on the oven and hood, limescale left by hard Tbilisi water, grout, radiators and light fittings. The price is based on the size of the home, its condition and the list of areas you choose, and we confirm it from photos. Message us on WhatsApp or call to arrange it in English.

  • Inside, behind and on top, not just the visible surfaces
  • Limescale, grease and grout treated as separate tasks
  • Useful when moving in, seasonally or after illness
  • Price agreed from your photos before we start
Scope

What goes beyond an ordinary clean

A normal visit keeps visible surfaces in order. A deep clean deals with the hidden build-up that accumulates over months.

  • Inside cabinets and drawers: emptied where agreed, crumbs and grease wiped out, shelves washed and dried before things go back.
  • Behind and under appliances: the fridge and washing machine moved out where it is safe to do so, so the floor and wall behind them can be cleaned.
  • Oven and hood: baked-on grease removed from the oven interior, trays and racks soaked, and the hood surface and metal filter degreased.
  • Limescale: taps, shower heads, glass screens, the kettle area and the sink, which in Tbilisi collect white crust quickly.
  • Grout and silicone: tile joints in the bathroom and kitchen scrubbed, with a note on any silicone that is black with mold and needs replacing rather than cleaning.
  • Radiators: dust removed from between the fins and behind the panel, which matters before the heating season starts.
  • Light fittings and high places: lamp shades, ceiling fixtures, tops of wardrobes, door frames and curtain rails.
  • Details: skirting boards, switches, door handles, window tracks and frames.

Our cleaners do not disconnect gas cookers, wiring or fixed plumbing. Anything that needs a technician is noted and passed to you. If you ever smell gas, leave the flat and call 112 from outside.

Tbilisi water

Why limescale is a local problem

Tap water in much of Tbilisi is hard, which means it carries dissolved minerals that stay behind when the water dries. The result is the chalky white layer that forms on taps and shower glass, the flaky crust inside kettles and on electric boiler outlets, and the dull film on tiles near the shower. On chrome it looks like dirt, even when the surface has been wiped.

Removing it properly needs a descaling product, time for it to work and careful rinsing, especially on natural stone, which can be damaged by acidic cleaners. That is why it sits on the deep-clean list rather than the regular one. If a shower head is so blocked that water sprays sideways, it may be faster to replace it, and our tap and toilet repair page covers that kind of job.

After a deep clean, drying glass and chrome with a cloth after each shower slows the build-up down considerably. It is a small habit that makes the difference between a bathroom that looks clean for a week and one that stays clear for months.

Timing

When a deep clean is worth doing

Moving into a rented flat

Previous tenants and a quick landlord tidy rarely reach inside kitchen cupboards or behind the fridge. Doing it before your boxes arrive is much easier than after.

Seasonal reset

Late spring, once the poplar fluff has passed, and early autumn, before radiators come on, are natural points to clear dust and grime from the whole flat.

After illness

Once someone has recovered, many people want bedding, surfaces, handles and the bathroom cleaned thoroughly. We clean carefully with agreed products, but this is not a certified medical disinfection service.

Other common reasons include preparing a flat to sell or rent out, the arrival of a new baby, or simply a home that has not had a proper clean in a long time. If you are leaving a rented flat rather than moving in, the move-out cleaning page is closer to what you need, and when builders have just left, after-renovation cleaning deals with construction dust specifically.

Before moving in, it is also worth photographing the flat as you find it, dated if possible, and sending the photos to your landlord. It protects your deposit and records what was already there before the clean.

Preparation

How to prepare your home

A deep clean goes faster and deeper when the team can reach the places that matter.

  1. 1

    Decide the list

Choose which areas are included. A full-flat deep clean and a kitchen-and-bathroom deep clean are very different in time.

  2. 2

    Clear what you can

Empty cupboards you want cleaned inside, or agree that the team will empty and refill them. Remove food that has expired while you are at it.

  3. 3

    Free the appliances

Leave space to pull the fridge forward and unplug small appliances. Defrosting the freezer the night before helps if it is included.

  4. 4

    Mention fragile items

Glass lamp shades, antique furniture and stone counters need care. Point them out, or move them to a safe corner.

  5. 5

    Plan for pets and people

The work involves strong products and moving furniture. It is easier if pets and small children are elsewhere for the day.

Who brings products, ladders and equipment is agreed when booking. For a deep clean the team usually needs more than a regular kit, so clarify it early, especially if you have preferences about specific chemicals.

Time and results

How long it takes and how long it lasts

On the day, a deep clean takes considerably longer than a routine visit, and a large or neglected flat may need a bigger team or a second session. The honest answer on timing comes after we see the photos, since an oven with years of grease and one that is merely dirty are different tasks. We give you the estimate together with the price.

As for the result, a deep clean is not something you repeat every week. The inside of cabinets and the back of the fridge will stay in good condition for a long time, while the bathroom and the hood will start to build up again with daily use. Most households find that one or two deep cleans a year, combined with regular apartment cleaning in between, keeps a flat in a steady state.

Beyond cleaning

Problems a deep clean often uncovers

Moving appliances and emptying cupboards regularly reveals things that are not cleaning issues at all. A damp patch behind the washing machine, a dripping trap under the sink, an old socket with scorch marks, or mold that keeps returning in one corner are all worth taking seriously.

The team will point out what they notice and take photos if you want them. For water, our water leak detection page explains the next step, and for sockets and wiring you can contact our electrician (page in Georgian). In a rented flat, send the photos to your landlord first, since who pays for repairs is agreed between you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between deep cleaning and regular cleaning?

Regular cleaning maintains what you can see: surfaces, floors, bathrooms. Deep cleaning goes inside, behind and on top, and tackles limescale, grease and grout that build up over months.

Can I deep clean only the kitchen?

Yes. Many people book a kitchen and bathroom deep clean only, since those are the rooms that need it most. The price reflects the smaller scope.

Will you clean inside the oven?

Yes, the oven interior, trays and racks are part of a typical deep clean. Very heavy build-up may need extra time, which we will mention after seeing the photos.

Can moldy silicone be cleaned?

Surface mold can often be reduced, but silicone that is black inside usually needs replacing. We will tell you honestly which case it is.

Is it safe for natural stone surfaces?

Stone like marble reacts badly to acidic descalers, so tell us about any stone counters or floors. The products used on them are agreed in advance.

I am not sure a deep clean is what I need. What else is there?

If the flat is in decent shape and you just want it kept that way, regular visits are enough. Our cleaning services overview has a table that matches common situations to the right type.

Do I need to be home during the deep clean?

Not for the whole time. Being there at the start to confirm the list, and at the end for a walk-through, works well.
