Paint splashes
Fresh water-based paint drops usually come off tiles, glass and frames with water and patience. Older or oil-based paint is handled carefully so the surface underneath is not scratched.

Post-renovation cleaning is the careful clean that follows builders and decorators: fine construction dust is removed in several top-to-bottom passes, paint, plaster and grout haze is lifted, protective films come off and new fixtures are wiped without scratches. The price depends on floor area, how much residue is left and whether the debris is already out. Send photos and the square meters by call, text or WhatsApp in English to get a quote and a date.
This is not a regular tidy-up. It is a targeted clean for surfaces that were just built, plastered, painted, tiled or installed, where the main enemy is a layer of mineral dust that keeps coming back if it is only wiped once.
After a renovation, dust sits on every horizontal edge, inside cabinets that were open during the works, on window frames, on radiators and in the tracks of sliding doors. It also hides in places people forget: the top of the door frames, light fittings, sockets, ventilation grilles and the space behind the toilet. Paint and plaster leave speckles on tiles and glass, and tilers often leave a thin cloudy film of grout on the surface they just laid.
A typical scope includes:
If the flat also needs a full top-to-bottom clean of lived-in rooms, such as a kitchen that was not part of the works, see our deep cleaning page. The cleaning services overview lists every type of clean we coordinate.
Plaster, gypsum board and cement dust is extremely fine. It floats for hours after it is disturbed and lands again on surfaces that were already clean.
That is why the work always runs from the top of the room to the bottom and from the far end of the flat toward the entrance. Cleaning the floor first and the shelves afterward simply moves dust from one surface to another. Household vacuum cleaners also clog quickly on this kind of powder, and wiping with a dry cloth tends to smear it into streaks.
Ceilings, upper walls, frames, shelves and floors are cleared of the heavy layer, working from high to low.
Surfaces that can take water are wiped with clean cloths and fresh water, which is changed often so the dust is not spread around again.
The remaining fine particles are allowed to settle, while windows can be opened for air if the weather and building allow it.
A last round catches what has landed since, followed by a walk-through with you or with photos sent to you if you are not in Tbilisi.
On heavy jobs some dust can still appear over the next few days as air moves through the flat. A light follow-up wipe may be needed, and this can be discussed when you book.
Each type of residue needs a different approach, and the wrong one can damage a finish that cost a lot to install. The cleaner first checks what the surface is before choosing a method.
Fresh water-based paint drops usually come off tiles, glass and frames with water and patience. Older or oil-based paint is handled carefully so the surface underneath is not scratched.
White smears on floors, sills and sockets are softened and lifted rather than scraped hard, because dried plaster can be abrasive and leave marks.
The cloudy film on new tiles is removed from the tile face without digging into fresh grout lines. If the tiler recommended a specific product, tell us before the visit.
Films on windows, doors, appliances and profiles are peeled off, and the adhesive left behind is cleaned. Film that has baked in the sun for months is harder to remove and takes longer.
Stickers on glass, sanitaryware and radiators, plus masking tape left by painters, are taken off along with the glue residue.
Excess sealant or expanding foam is a trade issue. It is pointed out to you so the installer can fix it, instead of being cut away by a cleaner.
Glossy kitchen fronts, matte black taps, chrome shower sets, lacquered doors, stone worktops and new parquet all react differently to cleaning. Most scratches after a renovation are caused by a cloth dragging grit across the surface, so dust is always lifted before anything is rubbed.
If the floor itself still needs work, for example sanding or a final lacquer coat, it is better to finish that first. We can arrange it through our floor sanding page (in Georgian) or the flooring page (in Georgian), and schedule the clean for afterward. Air conditioners that ran during the works often pull dust inside the unit, and that is a separate job described on our AC cleaning page.
Cleaners work on surfaces, not on piles of rubble. Broken tiles, cement bags, offcuts of plasterboard, cardboard from appliances and old fittings need to leave the flat before the clean begins. Otherwise every bag carried out through the rooms brings new dust with it and undoes the work.
If the builders did not take their waste with them, it can be removed separately. Details are on our waste removal page (in Georgian), and the team can talk you through it in English when you call. Ideally the waste goes out a day or two before the cleaning date.
Please tell us about any hazardous leftovers, such as solvent cans or chemical containers, before the visit. They are not handled as part of the clean.
The best time for the clean is when nobody will drill, sand or paint in the flat again. A single electrician coming back to fit a socket can cover a finished room with dust. Before choosing a date, ask each trade whether they are really done.
| Stage | What happens | Clean now? |
|---|---|---|
| Rough works | Walls, screed, wiring and pipes | No |
| Finishing | Painting, tiling, flooring, ceilings | No |
| Installation | Kitchen, doors, sanitaryware, lights, electrician (in Georgian) final fittings | Not yet |
| Waste removal | Rubble and packaging taken out | Book the clean |
| Post-renovation clean | Multi-pass cleaning and final check | Yes |
| Furniture delivery | Sofas, beds, boxes arrive | After the clean |
Furniture should ideally arrive after the clean, so there is nothing in the way and nothing to collect dust. Our furniture carrying service can be booked for the following day.
Many new residential blocks in Tbilisi, especially in Saburtalo, Dighomi, Didube and Isani, sell flats as "black frame" (bare concrete) or "white frame" (plastered walls, screed floors, often with windows and a front door). The owner then fits out the flat with their own contractors. Because every room is finished from scratch, these flats usually carry the heaviest dust load of any job we see.
Older buildings in Vake, Vera, Sololaki and Mtatsminda bring different issues. Renovations there often involve chasing old walls and replacing old steel pipes or aluminium wiring, which produces a lot of brick and lime dust, and the stairwell may be narrow with a small lift or none at all.
Some new buildings have an administrator or residents' association with rules about working hours, lift use and where waste can be left. Let us know about these when you book. If you are a foreign owner who managed the renovation remotely, we can coordinate the date with your contractor and send photos of the finished result.
There is no fixed tariff for this work, because two flats of the same size can be very different after renovation. The quote is given after you send a description and photos.
Who supplies the cleaning products and any special cleaners for stone or tiles is agreed when booking, as is the payment method. If an extra problem is found on the day, such as a much larger area of film than the photos showed, it is discussed with you before any extra work is done.
As soon as the last trade has finished and the waste is out. Fresh paint should be dry to the touch, and wet wiping of painted walls is left until the paint has cured, which your painter can confirm.
No, cleaning and waste removal are separate services. Rubble can be taken away through our waste removal service (in Georgian), ideally before the cleaning day.
Yes. A just-delivered white frame flat mainly has plaster and screed dust. Many owners book one clean before fit-out to see the space properly and another at the end.
The flat is cleaned in several passes during the visit. On very dusty jobs a fine layer can still reappear over the next days, and a short follow-up can be arranged if needed.
Yes, if someone can let the team in, for example your contractor, a neighbor or a building administrator. We coordinate in English and send you photos after the work.
Not necessarily. Booking, questions and updates are handled in English by phone, text or WhatsApp, and we pass your instructions on to the team.
Dust inside an AC unit needs a technician, not a cleaner. Book it separately through our AC cleaning service.
Send the area, a few photos and your move-in date. We reply with a price and available days.
Mention the square meters, the district and whether the waste is already removed.
Tell us when the builders finish and we will plan the clean around that date.
