Moving in Tbilisi

Movers in Tbilisi: carrying, transport and setup, arranged in English

Our movers in Tbilisi load, carry and transport your belongings in a truck matched to the size of the load, and can add packing, furniture disassembly and reassembly, or an external crane lift. The price depends on volume, floors, access and route, and we confirm it after you send a list and a few photos. Book by phone, text or WhatsApp, with coordination in English.

  • Flats, offices and single heavy items
  • Truck chosen to fit the actual load
  • Packing, assembly and crane lift on request
  • Quote after photos, coordination in English
The service

What a moving crew actually does on the day

Moving in Tbilisi is mostly about access: stairwells, lifts, parking and the distance from the door to the truck. The crew plans around those first.

A typical job covers loading at the old address, careful carrying through stairs or a lift, transport in a suitable vehicle, and unloading into the rooms you point to at the new place. Extras such as packing, taking furniture apart and putting it back together, or lifting items through a window are added when you ask for them.

Loading and carrying

Furniture, boxes and appliances are carried out, protected where needed and stacked in the vehicle so that heavy items sit low and fragile ones do not shift in traffic.

A truck sized to the load

We choose the vehicle from your inventory. A studio with a few boxes needs something very different from a three-bedroom flat in Vake with a piano and a full kitchen.

Packing on request

If you prefer not to pack yourself, the crew can wrap furniture and pack loose items. Packing material is discussed and agreed when you book.

Disassembly and assembly

Beds, wardrobes and large tables often have to come apart to fit through Soviet-era doorways. The crew can dismantle them and rebuild them at the new address.

Crane or furniture lift

When a sofa will not turn on the landing or the building has no lift, an external lift can raise items through a window or balcony. See our furniture lift page.

Unloading into rooms

Items are placed in the rooms you choose rather than left in the hallway, so you are not dragging a wardrobe across the flat on your own afterwards.

Find your situation

Which of our moving pages fits your situation

Different moves raise different questions. This table points you to the page written for your case.

Moving situations and the matching English page
Your situationWhere to read more
Leaving one rental flat for another, often with a landlord handoverApartment moving in Tbilisi
Relocating a company, a team or a single office floorOffice moving in Tbilisi

If your case mixes several of these, for example an apartment move where one wardrobe has to go out through the balcony, just describe everything in one message. One booking can combine the crew, the truck and the lift.

Scope

Included by default versus added on request

Clarity on scope avoids most arguments on moving day. Here is how we usually split the basic job from the optional extras. The final list for your move is confirmed when you book.

Removing old furniture or renovation debris is a separate service. See our waste removal page (in Georgian) at waste removal.

How it works

How booking works when you do not speak Georgian

You do not need a Georgian-speaking friend to organize a move. Messages, calls and scheduling can all happen in English.

  1. 1

    Send a message

Call, text or WhatsApp us in English with both addresses and your preferred date. A short voice note is fine too.

  2. 2

    Share photos and a list

Photograph the bulky items, the stairwell and the building entrance. Add an approximate number of boxes.

  3. 3

    Receive a quote

We reply with a price based on what you showed us, together with the vehicle size and the crew we plan to send.

  4. 4

    Confirm the slot

Once you agree, we fix the date and a start time. Payment terms are agreed when booking.

  5. 5

    Moving day

The crew arrives, checks the list with you, loads, drives and unloads. You stay reachable by phone throughout.

Our crews are local, so on the day the practical conversation may happen through our coordinator. That is normal: you tell us in English, and we pass it on clearly. Hours are Monday to Saturday 09:00-23:00 and Sunday 08:00-22:00, and we serve Tbilisi and the surrounding area.

Preparation

Getting ready for moving day

A little preparation shortens the job, and a shorter job is a cheaper and calmer one. None of this is complicated, but it is easy to forget in the last week before a move.

  • Tell the building administrator or residents' association when the move will happen, especially in new-build blocks with a concierge.
  • Check whether the lift works on the day. In older blocks it may be switched off, too small or shared with a busy entrance.
  • Think about where the truck can stop. Narrow streets in Old Tbilisi, Sololaki and Mtatsminda may leave some distance between the door and the vehicle.
  • Empty drawers in wardrobes and chests so they can be carried safely.
  • Keep documents, passports, keys, jewelry and laptops with you rather than in the truck.
  • Disconnect appliances in advance. Anything involving gas or fixed electrical connections should be handled by a qualified technician before the crew arrives.

Unplug the fridge and freezer the evening before and leave the doors open so they dry out. A washing machine should be disconnected from the water supply beforehand. If a plumber is needed for that, our plumber page explains how to arrange one.

Many tenants book a cleaning crew for the afternoon after the movers leave. Our move-out cleaning is built for exactly that handover.

Who uses us

Who we usually move in Tbilisi

Our English-language customers are a mix. Some arrived recently on a work contract and are moving from a short-term flat into a longer lease. Others are digital nomads changing districts, say from Saburtalo to Vera, for a quieter street or a better view. Diplomatic and international staff often move at the start or end of a posting, with a fixed timeline.

Landlords and Airbnb hosts call us to furnish a flat between tenants or to clear out old pieces before a refurbishment. Foreign-owned companies move desks and archives between business centers. The practical issues differ, which is why each case has its own page, but the planning starts the same way: a list, photos and a clear picture of the access at both ends.

We also work in Dighomi, Didube, Gldani, Isani and the surroundings of Tbilisi. Longer distances matter for timing, so mention the exact location in your first message.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do your movers speak English?

We do not promise that every crew member speaks English. What you can count on is that you can call, text or WhatsApp us in English and that we coordinate the job for you in English from the first message to the last box.

How far ahead should I book a move?

Earlier is better for weekends and month ends, when many leases in Tbilisi change hands. Urgent availability for the same or next day is confirmed on the call.

Can I get a price without an in-person visit?

Usually yes. A clear list, photos of big pieces and a note about floors and lifts let us quote remotely. The reasoning behind the price is explained on our moving cost page.

Will you take furniture apart and put it back together?

Yes, if you ask for it when booking. Tell us which pieces need it so the crew brings the right tools and plans the time.

What if the sofa does not fit through the stairwell?

Then an external lift through a window or balcony may be the answer. We check the site from photos first and confirm whether it is possible.

Do you supply boxes and packing material?

Packing material can be arranged. What is supplied and how it is charged is agreed when you book, so there are no surprises on the day.

Can you move just one or two heavy items?

Yes. Single pieces such as a washing machine or a wardrobe are a common request, covered on our furniture delivery page.
